Cubic Yard Calculator
Calculate cubic yards from rectangular, circular, or triangular areas with depth. Supports feet, inches, yards, centimeters, and meters.
Formula
Rectangular: L × W × D. Circular: πr² × D. Triangular: ½ × base × height × D. 1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet.
Assumptions
- All dimensions are converted to feet internally before volume calculation.
- Overage percentage accounts for waste and spillage only — not material density.
Limitations
- Does not account for material compaction or irregular excavation shapes.
Worked example
10 ft × 10 ft × 1 ft
100 cubic feet ÷ 27 = 3.70 cubic yards.
